Job Description
We’re looking for a highly creative, enthusiastic, borderline insane individual who has experience growing awareness for a consumer brand using owned marketing channels. In a category where consumers have little emotional connection to products and services they use to search and buy products, The Dorm Shop is trying to buck the trend developing a cult-like following and strong consumer affinity. This role will create evangelists from our passionate customer base and develop new and innovative programs to reach new audiences.   Reporting to the founder, this person will oversee two community marketers and be responsible for all of 

The Dorm Shop's owned marketing channels including but not limited to existing social channels as as well as identifying new growth channels. Key functions of this role include: 
1) developing a deep understanding of why customers should love us and their behavioral characteristics  
2) using consumer insights to develop and execute campaigns and programs to expand reach and improve engagement 
3) analyzing performance to understand how programs are driving Organic growth.   

This is a highly innovative role that draws inspiration by working with many other key areas of the business including Product Management, Content Marketing, Public Relations, and Customer Service. It requires strong communication skills and “growth hacker” instincts. The Dorm Shop is a special brand in a category of sameness, and we’re looking for someone who is passionate about taking a non-traditional approach to growing brand awareness and engagement.   

Responsibilities:   
Think creatively to develop seasonal programs and initiatives to activate the community and attract new customers 
Size opportunities quickly and efficiently to strategically go after the highest impact areas Develop campaign briefs and manage campaign calendar to align cross-functional teams Oversee development of all required program content Manage direct reports to execute and analyze programs 
Move quickly and shift priorities based on campaign performance 
Basic Knowledge of CSS/ HTML/ JAVASCRIPT 
Worked with analytical    

Experience: 
0-5 years experience in a similar consumer marketing role including: social media, content marketing, community management, or brand marketing Campaign development, content creation, and calendar management 
Excellent writing and communication skills including copywriting and copy editing 
Ability to analyze and communicate impact of campaigns, programs and initiatives High level of competence in social reach and engagement monitoring tools 
Experience managing direct reports 
Photoshop or knowledge of other similar editing tools a strong plus   
Salary: Negotiable. Equity 0-5%

There are three verticals
Shop: Where the students can shop for their supplies (freshmens can pre order even before starting college) and also for other products. We also tie up with campus stores and take their franchise.
Explore: This is local area listing of places frequented by students of that college.
News: Campus news and clogs written by students.

Explore Section

This is the local area listing page. It will only have places which are relevant to the college students and we will not be listing high end places.
From the tea vendors outside colleges, to places where students go to chill.
These listings will be uploaded by our interns and college societies of The Dorm Shop.

The Android App DashBoard

The Dash board has several links to take the student to Shop, explore or news. It is personalized for each college and offers are also college specific. So a student will not be exposed to news from other colleges or places unless he so wishes too.
