Team Summary

Our team had been working together on a startup, Uberhealth for Families, for about 2 years before starting Care Buddy. Uberhealth, a professional concierge service for the elders who are living away from their children, helped the team to bond and know the roles of each individual with clarity. Ishan takes care of the operations, UX for the app, business collaborations and marketing. The application is being prepared by the in-house development team lead by Ajay.
Our team knows each other since long. Ajay, Kamal and Ishan have studied from NIT Jalandhar. Ishan and Kamal met in an alumni meet 5 years ago and since have been interacting until 2 years back they agreed to start working together. Ajay is 2 years senior than Ishan, and have known each other since 8 years.

Product/Service Summary

CareBuddy is a web and mobile-based platform enabling people to manage all aspect of their family’s health. The user interacts with her CareBuddy, a real person managing the health care needs of the user and her family on a single platform.

Some of the problems we see people facing in every day to day life:
1. I forget the interactions I had with my doctors.
2. If my current doctor is un-available, How should I explain the case to the new doctor?
3. Records: Too much data and a lot of time taking stuff to manage them all. Managing records for the whole family is challenging.
4. Emergency: What should I do in case of emergency?
5. Care Giver: I am ill or someone I care for is ill, I need help.

To solve these problems, we created CareBuddy to manage doctor visits, diagnostics, medicine delivery and home healthcare. You can save and manage your family’s medical data. Also there is an emergency button, which sends an alert to whole family, when pressed.

How are we different?

The problem we are dealing with has plenty of data; some tangible (health records, bills, papers) and most of it in-tangible (diagnosis, precautions, experience, details). We are keeping a track of intangible data and storing it in the most convenient way for our users. None of our competitors store the in-tangible data. The user can see which doctor prescribed what for the described symptoms, what medicines were prescribed, what tests were done, what benefited and what not.

There is a gap when dealing with handling holistic healthcare. People in India go for different medical service providers and thus, managing care is an issue. By providing a holistic care on a single platform on real time, we are solving this problem.

Any adult familiar with chatting on phone can use the application. Primarily, we will be targeting the lady of the house (mother!) who handles all the care giving part in the family. Second, the care givers of the critical or chronic patients.
