Product/Service Summary

Aster is the safest cycling backpack in the world – it has no equal! This product utilizes the most visible part of a commuter cyclist - the backpack - in a unique way to improve cycling safety. Aster's rear and profile lights make you visible to motorists from all sides, front lights signal your presence in rear-view mirrors and automatic brake lights help you avoid getting rear-ended. Integrated turn signals make sure that drivers around you know when you’re making a turn. These features are hard to substitute by individual devices since no other object (including the cycle) presents real-estate that a backpack provides.

Aster is also connected to the internet through our mobile app - enabling customers to configure lights based on weather. But the app also enables us to gamify your cycling rides! This enables us to truly celebrate our cyclist customers for the heroes that they are. Our customers can now earn rewards for commuting and can even share it on Social Media.

How are we different?

We are building a very unique team and a unique set of skill-sets ranging from integration of Electronics with Fabric-based products to building connectivity features into wearables. Our set of skills include designing backpacks that can manage the heat generated by electronics without discomforting the user, utilization of flexible electronics to handle impact that any outer-wear faces, and building a community through our products.

We have a lead of at least 9 months over an equivalent team building this product. Take into account our networks amongst the customer base, our learnings from our previous global product in international sales, our experience with meeting international certifications and regulations and our existing brand-name for team-building - this lead would extend to a couple of years!
