Vebbler Pre-Series A round of Funding
Vebbler, the photo sharing app, which is present in more than 108 countries, raised more funds through LetsVenture.
In its pre-Series A round, Ambiga Subramanian, ex-CEO of Mu Sigma, actor Dino Morea, and popular VJ Nikhil Chinapa backed the startup. The other participants in the funding round included Anupam Mittal, Sharad Sharma, Pranav Pai and Venkat Raju. Also, business angels Anurakt Jain, vice-president of OEM operations at InMobi, Sanjay Ramakrishnan, senior director at Flipkart, and Pranay Jivrajka, founding member at Ola invested.
"The funds will be used for senior-level hiring and marketing," said Sahil Bhagat, Vebbler’s founder and chief executive. Also, Ambiga Subramanian will join the company’s board.
Sahil Bhagat launched Vebbler in 2013 as the Indian social camera. The startup raised over $500K in August 2016 and was even part of FbStart programme 2017.
Vebbler presently consists of a 15-member team across technology, marketing, and other non-tech roles.Sahil launched Vebbler in 2013 in Mumbai. A social network for conversations earlier, the company tweaked its offering to a photo sharing and collaboration app.The latest iteration of the app allows users to share photos in groups called clubs. Only club members can access these shared photos.Prior to Vebbler, Bhagat, an alumnus of the London School of Economics, set up two startups—a crowdfunding platform called Frogster and a college-based animation and film startup called Doodle Works.
